SMART IRRIGATION WATER CONTROLLER LOTTERY

Dear Resident,

As you know, underground aquifers supply all the water resources in the Great Neck community and in fact all over Long Island.  As a member of the Board of Directors of the Water Authority of Great Neck North (WAGNN), I take part regularly in discussions as well as actions to oversee, test, regulate and conserve our precious water supply.  With that in mind, I am writing to you with information about a lottery that WAGNN is participating with, the prize being a smart irrigation water controller.

Here are the details:  WAGNN been selected to participate in the Long Island Commission for Aquifer Protection (LICAP) Smart Sprinkler System Lottery!  LICAP will be giving away a limited number of FREE Smart Irrigation Controllers and providing rebates of up to $250 for installation! These Smart Sprinklers Systems can save customers thousands of dollars on their water bills over a lifetime, and help protect the environment by reducing stress on Long Island’s sole source aquifer.

To enter the Smart Sprinkler Lottery just fill out the attached form and send to LICAP at P.O. Box 38, Oakdale, NY 11769 or email the form to LICAP@SCWA.com. You can also visit LICAP’s website for easy e-signup: www.LIAquiferCommission.com.

The Long Island Commission for Aquifer Protection is a bi-county entity formed to address both quality and quantity issues facing Long Island’s aquifer system, and to advocate for a coordinated, regional approach to groundwater resources management.
The Water Authority of Great Neck North lottery will take place on April 26, 2018 at 6 PM at Great Neck House - 14 Arrandale Avenue, Great Neck, NY 11023. You do not need to be present to win!

Even if you don’t win the lottery, I urge you to take a look at smart irrigation controllers, they can save a lot of water over standard systems.   With ever increasing residential and commercial development in our community, I believe we need to pay more attention to our water usage and conserve as much as possible for our future. A smart irrigation controller is a step in that direction.

Enjoy the spring!
